The Splash Pad at Grand Park has alternating jets that are fun for little kids. There are plenty of chairs for caregivers and a Starbucks near the Splash Pad, so you can enjoy a coffee or tea while your kids are having fun with the water jets. Snacks are also available at Starbucks if you want to skip packing snacks. The new Grand Park Playground is just a perfect way to warm up and get dry. Clean bathrooms are nearby and open all day. Dogs are allowed in the park but must be on a leash at all times.

The park is open to the public every day from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 pm. Parking is available in Lot 10, with entrances on Broadway and Hill Street between First and Temple Streets (in the middle of the park).

The Annenberg Community Beach House at Santa Monica State Beach is a public facility on 5 acres of oceanfront property. The Splash Pad shoots water from the ground and is popular with small children. The Splash Pad is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm from May to September. Hours are subject to change with short notice; check the website calendar or call 310-458-4904 to confirm availability.

There are sitting areas and tables around the Splash Pad, with a restaurant nearby, "Back on the Beach Cafe," offering delicious meals with a view of the Ocean.

The seasonal pool schedule opens annually between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Pool passes go on sale in person one hour before the pool opening. Pool admission includes all-day access to the pool deck, heated pool, changing rooms, and lockers. Towels are not provided.

If the Beach House lot is full, additional parking lots 8 & 9 (south) and Will Rogers State Beach (north) are within walking distance. The bike path connects these lots to the Beach House on the ocean side. Tongva Park is a real gem of design and landscaping and is easily accessible on foot, by bike, by bus, or by train. The splash pad is up and running daily from 10 am to 6 pm. The most remarkable feature of the splash area is the natural design. This is an excellent option if you need to burn some energy out of your kiddos. There are things to climb on, fun slides, soft ground to play on, and many grass areas.

Ample bike parking is located near each park entrance (Ocean Avenue, Main Street, and Olympic Blvd). Several Metro and Big Blue Bus lines have stops adjacent to the park. Tongva Park is also a short walk from the Downtown Santa Monica Expo Line Station. Note that metered street parking is limited, but parking is also available at the Civic Center Parking Structure (enter off Fourth Street). Virginia Avenue Park is a 9.5-acre park, and it's home to a vibrant community center, a weekly Farmers Market, and the Pico Branch Library. The Splash area has water geysers and water spouts that the kids can aim at each other. There are also many shaded areas for parents to sit under while watching the kids. Adventure Playground is a beautiful playing experience for children 5-12 years old. Kids can raft in a small pond and go down a mudslide. While they are going down the slide, staff will assist them with a hose for a smoother slide. All visitors, including adults, must wear closed-toe shoes that cover the entire foot without holes or slits on any part of the shoe. Also take a few towels, a change of clothes, extra shoes, and a plastic bag for the wet clothes.

Adventure Playground is open from June 21, 2025 till August 16, 2025. The fee to enter the playground is $4 per child.
