A Complete Guide to Adventure Playground in Huntington Beach!

(Updated April 2022) If you are looking for a unique experience with your kids this summer, and you don't mind your kids getting dirty and wet, you must try Adventure Playground in Huntington Beach.

Located in Central Park near the Central Library and Amphitheater, this amazing park called Adventure Playground is one place your kids can actually be kids, and let their imagination take them on a journey of fun and adventure!

Kids can raft in a small pond, go down a mudslide, and build forts at Adventure City.

We recommend starting with building forts before the kids are wet and dirty and then moving on to more exciting games like rafting in the pond. Be prepared for your kids to fall in the pond, get wet, and get dirty. But they will have so much fun that they would want to keep going back in line and do the rafting over and over again.

Once they get over the rafting, it is time for the mud slide...an old fashion fun. While kids are going down the slide, they will be assisted by staff with a hose for a smoother slide.

All visitors, including adults, must wear closed-toe shoes that cover the entire foot without holes or slits on any part of the shoe. Also take a few towels, a change of clothes, extra shoes, and a plastic bag for the wet clothes. There are no lockers or cubbies available, but unheated showers and changing rooms are provided to clean up afterward.

We also recommend taking beach chairs or blankets for adults who want to watch. But you are really encouraged to participate in the fun and feel like a kid yourself, even just for a few hours. All you need is your sense of adventure, and willingness to try something new. It might be out of your comfort zone, but once you put your feet in that pond, all your limitations suddenly melt away, and all you can think about is why you haven't done this before.

If you will be eating at the park, take your own lunch. Refreshments are sold at the playground for a minimal cost, and they consist of soda, juice, chips, and candy. You may eat inside the playground or outside in the adjacent park.

The cost for a full day of fun at Adventure Playground is only $4.00 per child. All adults 16 and older are free. Adventure Playground does not accept credit cards, so make sure you take enough cash with you for each child. Large groups may pay with cash or a check made payable to the City of Huntington Beach.

Adventure Playground is open this year starting June 20, 2022, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays and July 4th. The play ends at 3:40 pm for cleanup. The park is not taking reservations at this time. If you have any questions, you can call the park at (714) 536-5486 and press 2 for questions.

Adventure Playground is located at 7111 Talbert Avenue in Huntington Beach. The entrance is from the Central Library parking lot.
