Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain at Grand Park

Los Angeles

The Splash Pad at Grand Park has alternating jets that is so much fun for little kids. There are plenty of chairs for parents, and a Starbucks near the Splash Pad, so you can enjoy a coup of coffee or tea while your kids are having fun with the water jets. Snacks are also available at the Starbucks if you want to skip packing snacks. The new Grand Park Playground is just a perfect way to warm up and get dry. Clean bathrooms are nearby and open all day. Dogs are allowed in the park, but must be on a leash at all times.

Stoner Park

West Los Angeles

The Stoner Park has a pool with splash park featuring sprays and spouts lining and fountains. The pool is 4 1/2 feet deep to be used for all ages, and a twisty slide for bigger kids. Children under seven must be accompanied by an adult on a one-to-one ratio. Children under the age of four must wear "swim diaper" or plastic pants. Admission fee is $3.50 for adults, and $1 for kids for the entire day. Men must wear swim trunks or board shorts, and women must wear a bathing suit. For hours, check their website or call as the opening hours vary. Street parking is available.

Aidan's Place & Westwood Recreation Center

West Los Angeles

Aidan's Place features a Playground designed to be accessible for children with disabilities.  During hot days, the kids can cool off in the playground with the spray coming from three misters, which are connected to the play equipment. The water spray offers hours of fun and a great way to beat the heat at the playground.

Rio de Los Angeles State Park

Los Angeles

Rio de Los Angeles (LA River) State Park’s natural river wetlands allows a serene opportunity to families who enjoy hiking trails, being surrounded by native plants and viewing returning wildlife. The park also features sports fields, a children’s playground, a recreation building, and a splash pad. There are plenty of shaded grassy areas for a picnicking, so don't forget your picnic basket and a blanket. The splash pad is open from mid June through Labor Day from 10 am to 7 pm daily.

Coldwater Canyon Park

Beverly Hills

This grassy park has two play areas, a water feature, and shaded arbor. The water feature is a man-made creek where your little ones can splash around in it and cool off during hot summer days. The river side is open for picnicking during summer months. Picnic areas may be reserved for use seasonally.

Annenberg Community Beach House

Santa Monica

The Annenberg Community Beach House at Santa Monica State Beach is a public facility located on 5 acres of oceanfront property. The Splash Pad shoots water out of the ground, and is very popular with small children. The Splash Pad is open from May 1st through September 5th from 9am to 6pm daily. Check hours here after September 5th. There are sitting areas and tables around the Splash Pad, with a restaurant nearby, "Back on the Beach Cafe", offering appetizing meals with a view of Ocean.

 

Parking is $12 per day or $3 an hour.  If the Beach House lot is full, additional parking lots 8 & 9 (south) and Will Rogers State Beach (north) are within walking distance. The bike path connects these lots to the Beach House on the ocean side. Tongva Park

Santa Monica

This park is right across the entrance of Santa Monica Pier, which was officially opened in Fall 2013. Tangva Park is a real gem of design and landscaping, and easily accessible by foot, bike, bus, or train. The splash pad is up and running daily from 10am to 6pm. The most remarkable feature of the splash area is the natural design. If you need to burn some energy out of your kiddos, this is a great option.  There are things to climb on, fun slides, soft ground to play on, and lots of grass area.

 

Ample bike parking is located near each park entrance (Ocean Avenue, Main Street, and Olympic Blvd). Several Metro and Big Blue Bus lines have stops adjacent to the park. Tongva Park is also a short walk from the Downtown Santa Monica Expo Line Station. Note that metered street parking is limited, but parking is also available at the Civic Center Parking Structure (enter off Fourth Street).

Douglas Park

Santa Monica

Douglas Park is a beautiful and well manicured park featuring lawn bowling, three dock ponds, fly fishing area, picnic tables and benches, children's playground and splash-pad where kids can play on their bikes, scooters, and skate boards and also play with water. The splash pad only operates during summer time when it is hot. For more information about the operation of the splash pads, please call the park.

Virginia Avenue Park

Santa Monica

Virginia Avenue Park is a 9.5-acre park, and it's home to a vibrant community center, a weekly Farmers Market, and the Pico Branch Library. A Sprinkle of fun is open daily from 10am-6pm, with water coming from the floor and the walls. The Splash area has water geysers, and water spouts that the kids can aim at each other. There is also lots of shaded areas for parents to sit under while watching the kids. The playground has a jungle gym with a slide and a big tower where you can see a great view of the entire park.
