Serpentine Pavilion by SelgasCano at La Brea Tar Pits is Now Open!

This summer explore the rainbow tunnels of Serpentine Pavilion at La Brea Tar Pits with your kids! This immersive 866-square-foot structure where art and science meet, is a temporary pop up architectural creation that is free to public and open every day starting June 28, 2019 through November 24, 2019.

Each of the rainbow tunnels takes you on different journey. There are multiple ways to wander, and many entrances and exits, but they all emanate from a center area where you'll be immersed in stained glass light. The pavilion experience shifts from day to night—natural light seeps through translucent walls by day, and glowing lights illuminate its colors and surfaces once the sun goes down.

The structure is open to public from 11 am to 7 pm daily, and open until 9 pm on Fridays. Walk-ups are welcome, but you can also visit by reserving timed express entry at pavilion.secondhome.io

“The pavilion is for people to walk inside, experience and work with their memories. The complexity of nature is bigger than what we have digitally. The pavilion is an artificial nature; the goal is to improve the natural with something artificial.” Founder José Selgas
