Let’s be honest: what’s a summer day without a refreshing dip? The Beach House’s legendary historic pool is open daily through September 7, making it the crown jewel of your warm-weather adventures.


Surrounded by vintage 1920s architecture and modern amenities, it’s an incredible spot to cool off with the family without breaking the bank.


  • Pool Schedule: Open Monday through Thursday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM (Note: On Labor Day, September 7, the pool opens early from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM), and Friday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Planning a summer birthday bash, a family reunion, or a massive playdate? Daily through September 7 (with reservation slots from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM), you can reserve Canopies on the Sand. These spacious setups accommodate groups of up to 30 people, providing the ultimate shaded home base for celebrating, gathering, and enjoying a full day by the ocean.

Get Moving on the Beach Courts

For the active spirits and sports enthusiasts in the family, the Beach Courts are open daily for $15/hour. Whether you're looking to bump, set, and spike on the beach volleyball courts or kick goals on the soccer pitch, it’s an awesome way to get moving. You can bring your own ball or check one out at Guest Services between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Epic Summer Events Calendar You Won't Want to Miss

Beyond the daily fun, the Beach House is hosting an incredible lineup of special community events all season long. Mark your calendars for these highlights:

1. Community Picnic

  • When: Thursday, July 30 | 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM | FREE (RSVP required)

  • What: From tots to tweens to adults, this is old-fashioned summertime magic at its finest! Enjoy epic tug-of-war battles, a lively pie walk, gaga ball, giant Jenga and Connect Four, and special storytime sessions for the little ones. It’s the ultimate evening celebrating community togetherness.


2. Santa Monica Public Library at the Beach

  • When: Friday, August 7 | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM | FREE (No RSVP needed)

  • What: Southern California’s only beachside pop-up library returns! Sign out books without needing a library card, create fun nautical crafts, play games, or kick back and relax in the Surfside Lounge. Don't miss storytime at 10:15 AM, followed by nautical crafts and an interactive musical performance with Sweet Potato Music at 11:30 AM.


3. Sand & Sea Room Fun (NEW THIS SUMMER!)

  • When: Thursday, August 13 | 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM | FREE

4. Sunset Picnic

  • When: Thursday, August 13 | 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM | FREE (RSVP required)

  • What: Don't miss the final Sunset Picnic of the year! Pack your favorite basket, bring friends or come solo, and settle in for live music by Caro Pierotto, lawn games, crafts, and a fun photobooth activity with Community Collage. Plus, delicious s’mores will be available while supplies last!


Grown-Up Time: Adults-Only Sunset Swims

Parents deserve a little summertime relaxation too! If you are 18 and older, book your spot for the exclusive Sunset Swim evenings on Friday, August 7 and Friday, August 21 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.


  • How it works: Kick off your evening with Happy Hour at Back on the Beach Cafe starting at 5:00 PM. Once you have your Sunset Swim wristband, you can bring your Happy Hour drink straight into the historic pool area starting at 6:00 PM.


  • The Vibe: Relaxing, social, and nostalgic. The organizers provide s’mores, popcorn, and fun pool floaties so you can unwind under the evening sky.

Learn Something New: Stand-Up Paddleboard Classes

Want to trade your typical Saturday morning routine for an exhilarating coastal adventure? Sign up for Stand-Up Paddleboard Classes held on Saturdays through August 22, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.


Designed for adults, these welcoming classes teach you the fundamentals of paddleboarding while helping you build core strength, balance, and ocean confidence. Best of all? All necessary gear is provided!
