"Have you eaten?" This is the mantra for every Italian mother, it is what she lives for. She will hunt you down until she is absolutely certain that you've eaten. And that is why Italians have the best food! Because Italian food comes with a whole bunch of love. And when you go to Nerano, you can genuinely taste the love in every single bite, as the food is inspired by the chef’s mother's home cooking in Puglia!
Elegant yet comfortable, the vibe at Nerano is everything that you would expect from a top tier Beverly Hills restaurant. Beautiful lighting, brick accents, and an expanse of floor to ceiling windows looking out onto little Santa Monica. While people in their fancy cars endeavor to make their way through traffic, you casually tuck into your beautifully presented meal.
The kitchen being visible, almost feels approachable and inviting. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the tables are cozy and comfortable. When I spoke to the executive chef, Michele Lisi, I asked how he wanted the patrons to feel when they left, he simply said, "Satisfied,… and happy", and that is absolutely how you feel after you dine at Nerano.
Nerano is one of those restaurants that you can enjoy with your spouse on a date night, or take the whole family for a Sunday brunch! The menu is centered on seafood, yet has many Italian classics like pizza & pasta, and a number of meat, and vegetarian dishes.
If you are a meat lover like me, you have to try the Tagliata di Kobe (12 oz. AU Wagyu NY Steak Score 6, Olive Oil Potato Purée, Chips, Grilled Radicchio Trevisio). The meat is exceptionally tender, juicy, and elegant, and is cooked to perfection.
The Chef has also prepared a beautiful, and delicious family menu for your Sunday brunch. You can choose a family-style Spaghetti with Pomodoro Sauce, Bolognese Sauce, or Aglio Olio e Pepperoncino. The kids menu for ages 10 and younger includes Margherita Pizza, Spaghetti al Pomodoro, Penne al Burro, or Garganelli alla Bolognese. They even have Cotoletta di Pollo, which is crispy baked chicken tenders.
For dessert, you must try Nocciolino (Guanaja Dark Chocolate Mousse, Crunchy Hazelnut, Gelato Gianduja, Toarched Italian Meringue), or Torta All’Olio Rosmarino (Olive Oil Rosemary Cake, Fior di Latte Gelato), which are both so heavenly.
No need for complication. The food is perfect in every way at Nerano.
