Exploring Greystone Mansion In Beverly Hills With Kids!

Greystone Mansion, also known as the Doheny Mansion, is and old mansion with distinctive English gardens located in Beverly Hills on a 16 acre land. The estate was a gift from oil tycoon Edward L. Doheny to his son, who lived there for a short period of time with his wife and five children.

In 1971, it was purchased by the City of Beverly Hills and turned into a city park. At the time it was built (1928), it cost over $4 million and was the most expensive home built in California.

I recently visited the park with my family, and I highly recommend a visit with your kiddos, the entire family, or even by yourself. The view is absolutely breath taking, and the gardens are beautifully designed. The unique historic charm and elegance of the space will give you a warm feeling just being there. Even though you can't enter the main house, you can walk through the property, take beautiful pictures (no professional photography is allowed unless by permission), stroll down the paths to the flower gardens, or relax to the sound of the splashing fountain in the inner courtyard while your kids are running around and enjoying the massive space.

There is a pond on the property full of big colorful fish, which will definitely catch your little one's attention. Your little explorer would also enjoy finding hidden spots around the mansion, or climb the grand terrace staircases.

This place is also awesome for new parents to take a stroll with their babies while the baby is taking a nap. The air is fresh, the scenery is beautiful, and the gardens are quite and serene, making it a perfect spot to shake off your tension from being up all night. Take some snack and even a lunch bag and spend few hours exploring the gardens, or even mediate.

While I was there, I was even thinking to myself to ditch everyone one of these days for a few hours and come here all by myself and have some alone relaxing Mommy time by the fountain. After all, a relaxed happy Mom is every kid's wish. Isn't it?
