Wiener Dog Race at Old World Village

Old World Village in Huntington Beach has been hosting its beloved Wiener Dog Races for more than 30 years, and the fall season brings several more chances to watch these short-legged sprinters in action. Dachshunds line up and zoom toward the finish line while the crowd cheers them on, making for one of the cutest and silliest outings in Orange County.

Each race day features two rounds of racing, one in the late morning and another in the early afternoon, along with a pet expo. Every date has its own playful theme, from the Oktoberfest Stakes and the Prince Ludwig Open to the Old World National Championship and the Wiener Wonderland Cup in December.

Kids love picking a favorite pup to root for, and the charming Bavarian-style village gives families plenty to explore between races. Your family can choose standing-room tickets or upgrade to a reserved seat, and little ones 5 and under get in free. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent.

Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent.

Standing-room tickets are $10 per person.

Seated VIP tickets are $18 per person.

Kids 5 and under are free.

Refunds are available up to 3 days before the event; Eventbrite fees are nonrefundable.

Parking is free at Old World Village.

Park in the orange high-rise parking structure off Huntington Village Lane and Center Avenue, behind the Hotel Huntington Beach. Follow the parking signs on Huntington Village Lane.

Do not park in the East or West lots of Old World Village; violators will be towed.
