The Dia de los Muertos 5K by Northgate Market

Northgate González Market brings back its annual Día de los Muertos 5K on Halloween morning, and this one comes with a rare perk: runners and walkers get to cross the field at Angel Stadium and catch themselves on the Jumbotron. The race celebrates Day of the Dead traditions, so sugar skull face paint and festive outfits fit right in.

Kids get their own moment too. A Kid's 1K for ages 3 to 7 kicks off before the main event, giving young runners a chance to earn their own bragging rights. Every registration includes a commemorative race shirt, a finisher medal, finish line photos and video, and entry to the post-race expo.

After the finish line, families can hang out at the post-race party with a DJ, water and light snacks, plus food sold by Northgate Market. The 5K is chip timed, and strollers and families with young children are asked to line up toward the back of the start.

Proceeds support the González Reynoso Foundation, which helps provide holiday grocery vouchers to local families in need, so your family's morning run also gives back to the community.

Registration remains open until shortly before each race start on race morning. Race shirts are guaranteed only for early registrants.
