Shrek The Musical JR. is leaping off the pages and onto the prestigious stage of the Ahmanson Theatre for a very special, one-night-only benefit performance—and it’s going to be ogre-the-top in all the best ways. Brought to life by 55 talented middle school students from Altadena Arts Magnet and Eliot Arts Magnet, this joyful production is not just a musical, it's a celebration of resilience and creativity. After the Eaton Fire devastated Eliot Arts’ theatre, the community rallied to keep the show alive—and Center Theatre Group stepped in to make it happen in a big way. This charming adaptation of the beloved movie-turned-musical brings the story of Shrek, Donkey, Fiona, and a gang of fairy tale misfits to life with humor, heart, and plenty of swampy fun. It’s the fourth collaboration between these sister schools and a shining example of how the arts bring us together, even in tough times.
