Just in time for summer, the California Science Center invites families to beat the heat and dive into the icy wonders of Antarctica 3D, opening June 21 at the IMAX Theater. Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch and created by the award-winning filmmakers behind Planet Earth II, this stunning giant-screen documentary takes audiences on a breathtaking journey to the most remote and mysterious continent on Earth.
With dazzling, never-before-seen footage and immersive 3D visuals, Antarctica 3D explores the extreme conditions of this frozen land—home to some of the most resilient and unique creatures on the planet. Watch as a parent penguin shields its chicks from the bitter cold, witness wild seas and hauntingly beautiful ice landscapes, and discover how the fate of this frozen frontier affects us all.
Running just 45 minutes, it’s the perfect adventure for curious kids, nature-loving grownups, and anyone ready for a cool escape. Want to go as a group or plan a private screening? The Science Center has discounts available for members and groups of 15+.
