Description

Yanks Air Museum in Chino is marking the anniversary of D-Day with a rare treat for aviation fans of every age. On Saturday, June 5, 2027, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the museum is opening up its C-47 Skytrain, the type of transport plane that carried Allied troops into the D-Day invasion, so visitors can step inside and explore the cockpit.

For kids, getting to climb into a real World War II aircraft is a thrill that no textbook can match. They can see where the crew sat, imagine what those missions felt like more than 80 years ago, and ask grandparents and parents about the history behind the plane. The museum pitches the day as a chance for generations to connect, which makes it a meaningful outing for multi-generational families.

While there, families can wander the museum's indoor hangars, home to more than 200 flying and static aircraft, plus the outdoor boneyard of future restoration projects, a gift shop and kids' rides. It is a great pick for budding pilots, history buffs and anyone who loves big machines.
