Superintendent Austin Beutner updated the school community on Monday, April 20th about when the kids can return to school, and we have all the details for you!
Beutner stated today, "the answer is simple -- as soon as we can, when it is safe and appropriate. Less simple is not when, but how. Health authorities need to provide clear answers on several important questions to help us answer the how.
First, what testing is available to make certain that individuals are not carrying the virus?
Is that test current?
How are those who tested positive or negative are being tracked? and
Finally, what is the risk of exposure to school and could that cause the individual to bring the virus home with them?"
He further noted, "in ordinary times, as many as a million people might be in our schools in one given day. Students, and school staffs in classrooms and families and visitors of school events like music performances or football games. Those people go home to a couple of million more people."
We would like to hear from you about what do you think the future holds for our kids, and our families! Please comment below and let us know your thoughts.
