How To Make Shrunken Head Dessert For Halloween!


Halloween is just around the corner and at the same time it is apple season, and we've got a great dessert recipe for you and your kiddos to make together with apples to make your Halloween a little spookier!



These shrunken heads made of apples will make a fun and creepy dessert for your Halloween dinner, and will give a little fright to everyone in your family!


We suggest using Granny Smith apples for the best results. You will also need some salt and lemon juice.



  • Start with peeling your apples, leaving the stems intact.


  • Carve faces using a small paring knife or a melon baller.


  • Combine 1 cup lemon juice and 2 tablespoon salt in a bowl.


  • Dip apples in lemon juice mixture for 5 minutes, then arrange on a baking sheet.


  • Bake the apples at 200F for 8 hours.


  • Turn off the oven and let apples stand in the oven overnight.


  • Chill until ready to use.


  • Float the apples in a punch bowl or plunk into mugs for a spooky dessert.
