The Ocean Institute on Dana Point hosts the Tall Ships Festival for the 34th year. You get to tour real, working tall ships, and experience interactive living history encampments, sea chanteys concerts, cannon battles at sea, an arts and crafts show, a boat parade, and more. Friday evening, before the start of the festival proper, the ships sail as a parade at sunset.

Head out to LA County Fair to watch chickens hatch, cheer pig races, ride ponies, pet kangaroos and ostriches, bungee jump, ride elephants, listen to live music, and mingle with hogs, heifers, and hares. More than 70 rides and attractions make the LA Fair the largest carnival collection in North America. Be sure to check the fair's website for special deals on tickets and/or parking before heading out, and for the day's hours.

A master chef steams up live Maine lobsters at this fun festival while you get entertained with live music on two stages, a dance floor, and arts and crafts booths. A giant food court offers numerous dining alternatives, and beach bars serve refreshments for the over 21 crowd. The Children's Stage showcases magicians, live reptiles, and inflatable bounces for the kids! Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.


Autism Family Morning Aquarium of the Pacific 100 Aquarium Way

The Aquarium of the Pacific is hosting its Autism Family Morning this Saturday. This special morning is exclusive for families with children or adults with autism. Enjoy the Aquarium before it opens to the general public at 9:00 am. The entire Aquarium (except for Lorikeet Forest) will be open at 7:00 am. You may continue to enjoy the Aquarium after it opens to the general public.


Kids Workshop: Scarecrow Planter Home Depot Multiple Locations

Children will construct their own scarecrow planter by sanding, glueing, and painting pieces of wood to make this cute autumn planter. In addition to their craft, children receive a certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative PIN. Register online to reserve your spot. This event is free and open to public.
