You can smell the holidays in the air already, and with Thanksgiving approaching, and no school next week, there are so many amazing and fun things to do with kids in this beautiful City.

Start your weekend early with the holiday celebration in Beverly Hills, visit Santa at The Grove, get enchanted at Forest of Light at Descanso Garden, go on a journey of excitement at Circus Vargas, do some ice skating in Santa Monica, and many many more.

Beverly Hills is the place to be for the holidays. The festivities officially begin Thursday, November 16 at 5 p.m. with the Rodeo Drive Holiday Lighting Celebration and a special performance by Robin Thicke as the headlining performer. DJ Balthazar Getty will be performing during the lighting celebration while the talented Vanessa Lachey will host the event that will end with a fireworks display over Rodeo Drive. You are invited to continue the celebration on November 20th on Rodeo Drive, and are encouraged to bring a coat or warm clothing item to donate to give the gift of warmth for the holiday season. Santa has already taken his post at the Santa House at the Grove and the entire property has transformed into the ultimate holiday spectacle. Each day throughout the holiday season, you can enjoy a festive brass band, drummer boys, stilt walkers, visits from gingerbread men and toy soldiers, hot cocoa carts, a cappella performances, and "snow fall" every night at 7pm and 8pm. Explore the City with your kids this Saturday with hundreds of walkers starting at Japanese American National Museum. The whole excitement of exploring L.A. by foot is to get up close and personal with sites you might normally miss while cruising down the street in your car. There's a lot to see this year. At downtown you'll pass through Little Tokyo, the L.A. Times building, City Hall and more; later, on Beverly, you'll see the Original Tommy's, CBS Television City, and much more. You can hop on or off the walk whenever you'd like when the kids get tired. Even though reservations are not required, RSVPs are appreciated. [FREE]

Enchanted: Forest of Light is an interactive, nighttime experience unlike anything else in Los Angeles, featuring a one-mile walk through unique lighting experiences in some of the most beloved areas of Descanso Gardens, and it starts this Sunday. Tickets range from $28-$30 for the general public, and $23–$25 for Descanso Gardens members. This is the last weekend that Circus Vargas is in town till the next year. Goggles, gears, and gadgets set the stage for the retro-futuristic production, Steam Cirque, a journey of fantastic proportions where children of all ages will marvel at the wacky and wonderful cast of characters that come alive in this exciting steampunk, science- fiction fantasy inspired circus odyssey. Arrive 45 minutes early for the interactive pre-show where kids can join the circus; stay for a post-show meet and greet with the stars. There are no animals in this show. [Cost: $25+]

Every holiday season, Downtown Santa Monica brings a little ice skating to the beachside community and transforms the corner of Fifth Street and Arizona Avenue into Ice at Santa Monica, into the winter wonderland known as Ice at Santa Monica, an 8,000-square-foot ice-skating rink. Admission & Skate rentals are $15. Locker Rental are $10 with $5 refund upon key return. Hot dogs, cocoa, and other snacks are available for purchase.
