Description
The Venice - Abbot Kinney Memorial Branch Library is throwing open the doors to its brand-new Youth Sensory Space, and everyone’s invited! This specially designed area offers a welcoming, calming environment for neurodivergent youth and those with sensory sensitivities — and the grand opening is packed with fun. The celebration kicks off at 10:30 a.m. with a ceremony featuring special guest speakers, including John Szabo, City Librarian. At 2 p.m., don’t miss an inspiring talk by Coco Atama, a blind and autistic skateboarder, followed by a live skateboarding demo at Centennial Park! Throughout the day, kids and teens can enjoy sensory storytime, adaptive crafts, cookies from Levain Bakery, and hands-on fun with the library’s brand-new adaptive tech — like exclusive reader's pens and sensory kits. Come be among the first to experience this amazing new community space!
