Blanchard—an acclaimed jazz trumpeter, composer, and two-time opera trailblazer—brings selections from his operatic masterpieces Fire Shut Up in My Bones and Champion to life in a genre-defying performance.

Backed by his electric E-Collective and the genre-bending Turtle Island Quartet, this performance also features the stunning vocals of baritone Justin Austin and soprano Adrienne Danrich. With immersive visuals by Andrew F. Scott, the result is an unforgettable blend of music, storytelling, and innovation.

Commissioned in collaboration with LA Opera and presented as part of LA Opera Off Grand, this event is a bold celebration of creativity and cultural expression at the heart of The Soraya’s first month-long performing arts festival.
