Signal Hill Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Cities of Signal Hill and Long Beach team up every November to kick off the holidays with a free community Tree Lighting Ceremony at Signal Hill Park. This hilltop gathering is a cozy, small-town style celebration where neighbors bundle up, sip something warm and count down together until the big tree glows. It is an easy, low-cost way for your family to start the season on a festive note without a long drive or a pricey ticket.

The evening opens at 5:15 p.m. with a lively set from The Alley Cats, the much-loved a cappella group, and the countdown builds to the tree lighting at 6:00 p.m. Kids can dive into festive crafts, wander through a Winter Village filled with seasonal fun, and listen as carolers stroll the park. Warm seasonal treats help keep little hands toasty once the sun goes down.

Don't forget the camera, because Santa is stopping by for photos with families. Arriving a little early gives kids time to finish a craft and grab a good spot before the lights flip on. This free, family-friendly Signal Hill holiday event works beautifully for toddlers through tweens, and grandparents will love the classic carols too.
