Description

Noah's Ark at the Skirball Cultural Center is one of the most imaginative kids' destinations in Los Angeles, and on Friday afternoons it opens its doors for a gentler, sensory-friendly visit. These special 90-minute sessions are designed for children with autism, sensory-processing differences and other developmental disabilities, along with their families, though all visitors are welcome.

During Sensory Friendly Fridays, the Skirball keeps crowds smaller, turns the galleries quieter and offers relaxed music and story times. Kids can still climb, build, play pretend and meet the ark's hundreds of whimsical handmade animals, all crafted from recycled objects. Families can borrow noise-dampening headphones, sensory bags and lanterns for low-light sensitivity to make the visit more comfortable.

Your ticket also includes general admission to the rest of the museum's current exhibitions, so families can keep exploring at their own pace after their time aboard the ark. It is a thoughtful, welcoming option for parents who want their child to enjoy a beloved LA attraction without the usual noise and bustle.

Sessions run at 12:00 PM on Fridays and are not offered November 20 through December 25, 2026. Reservations for the noon timeslot are recommended, and the Skirball asks that each group have one adult for every four children.
