Saturday Morning Cartoons: The Jetsons

LACMA brings back the joy of Saturday morning cartoons with a free screening of The Jetsons, the 1962–63 animated series about a family living in a gadget-filled future. Kids get to meet George, Jane, Judy, Elroy, Astro and Rosie the robot, while parents and grandparents can relive a classic from their own childhoods.

The screening ties into LACMA's exhibition Home of the Future, 1925–1985: Designing Domestic Utopias, which looks at how designers imagined tomorrow's homes, including ideas that inspired shows like The Jetsons. After the cartoons, families can wander the museum and spot real-life versions of flying-car-era dreams, push-button kitchens and futuristic furniture.

The program is part of Third Weekends at LACMA, a monthly mix of free and ticketed events inspired by the museum's collection and special exhibitions. It is a relaxed, one-hour outing that works well for young kids, with plenty of time left in the morning to explore Museum Row.

Admission to the screening is free, but an RSVP is required, so reserve spots early. The Metro D Line now stops right at LACMA's Wilshire/Fairfax station, making it easy to skip the parking hunt.
