This evening features the orchestral debut of LACO’s Creative Director and NPR favorite Lara Downes — and trust us, her performance of Florence Price’s Piano Concerto in One Movement will stop you in your tracks. Add in Price’s stirring Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, Gershwin’s gentle Lullaby, and Schumann’s rousing Symphony No. 2, and you’ve got a concert that not only celebrates musical pioneers, but gives you all the feels along the way.
