Description
Step into a world where identity, expression, and artistry collide. Persona: Exploring Self-Portraiture is a vibrant and thought-provoking exhibition at Forest Lawn Museum that challenges the idea of what a self-portrait really is. With over 20 contemporary artists in the spotlight—plus a few iconic historic self-portraits—this exhibition goes far beyond your typical painted selfie.
From striking sculptures and emotive paintings to experimental fused glass, textile masterpieces, and surreal photography, every piece invites you to rethink how we represent ourselves visually. Expect to see works by artists like Alison Blickle, Narcissus Quagliata, Ruthy Kim, and Ramona Rosales, each offering a distinct take on identity, perspective, and the ever-shifting idea of self. Whether bold or intimate, abstract or literal, these portraits are as layered and complex as the humans behind them. This isn’t just an art show—it’s a deep dive into the soul through a kaleidoscope of mediums.
