Naghash Ensemble

The Naghash Ensemble brings the sound of Armenia to The Wallis with music that mixes Armenian folk song and contemporary classical with the drive of rock and jazz. Three female vocalists perform alongside musicians on duduk, oud, dhol and piano.

Their program, Songs of Exile, was written by Armenian-American composer John Hodian. It sets the sacred poetry of the medieval Armenian poet and priest Mkrtich Naghash to strikingly modern music.

It's a beautiful way for families to share a rich musical tradition across generations.
