Meet the Hatter

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland gets a fresh point of view in Meet the Hatter, a dance and multimedia show from the UK's Joss Arnott Dance that lands at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in March 2027. This time the story belongs to the Hatter, whose tea party turns lonely when no guests show up, so he dreams up a Wonderland all his own.

Expect athletic contemporary dance paired with digital projections, animation, colorful lighting and an original score, all working together to make the stage feel like a moving storybook. The show leans into big themes kids understand right away, like play, imagination and believing in yourself, without needing a single line of dialogue to carry the fun.

Three performances in the cozy Samueli Theater make it easy to plan a weekend outing, and the visual style is a strong pick for kids who love animation or are curious about dance. Families who know the Lewis Carroll story will enjoy spotting familiar characters and moments through the Hatter's eyes.
