Marina Drum Circle 2026

Few things get kids moving faster than a big circle of drums, and the Marina Drum Circle delivers that energy on Sunday mornings and afternoons at Burton Chace Park. Presented by the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors, this free program invites families to sit down, pick up a drum and make music together with neighbors and visitors overlooking the marina.

Christopher Ramirez of Freedom Drum Circles guides each session, so no musical experience is needed. He helps the group find a shared rhythm, build it up and play with different sounds, turning a crowd of strangers into one big, joyful band. Remo Drums supplies the instruments, which means families can simply show up and start playing.

Each session lasts about an hour, a nice length for younger kids with wiggly attention spans. Space is limited, so reserving free tickets in advance is the way to go. With the season wrapping up on October 18, these final Sundays are a great chance to pair a little drumming with a picnic, a stroll along the waterfront or lunch at one of the nearby marina restaurants.
