Kids in the Kitchen: Pasta Cavatelli

Eataly Los Angeles is inviting young cooks and their grown-ups into its cooking school for a hands-on pasta lesson. In Kids in the Kitchen: Pasta Cavatelli, a La Scuola chef walks families step by step through mixing, rolling, and shaping cavatelli, the small curled pasta that is perfect for little hands to master.

Parents and kids work side by side at their stations, so it doubles as a fun bonding activity and a sneaky lesson in following a recipe. After the shaping is done, everyone sits down to taste a prepared cavatelli dish, with organic juice for the kids and wine for adults 21+.

Best of all, your family heads home with a batch of homemade cavatelli to cook later. The class is designed for children ages 4 and up and lasts about two hours. Seating is first-come, first-served, and anyone with dietary restrictions should contact Eataly at least 48 hours ahead.
