Jewel City Concert Series

Downtown Glendale turns into an open-air music venue on fall Saturday evenings during the Jewel City Concert Series. Presented by the City of Glendale and its Arts & Culture Commission, the free outdoor series takes over the Artsakh Paseo in the Downtown Arts & Entertainment District, right by the Glendale Central Library, and it is a laid-back way for families to share live music together.

Each one-hour show features a different style. Voz Bohemia, a multigenerational trío romántico, opens the remaining lineup with classic boleros and rancheras on October 10. Soul and retro-pop group YOUNGTONES brings '60s- and '70s-inspired grooves on October 17, and Rootful closes the season on October 24 with an upbeat blend of reggae, Latin and funk that is hard not to dance to.

Seating is not provided, so pack a folding chair or blanket and arrive a little early to claim a comfy spot on the paseo. Concerts run about 60 minutes with no intermission, which makes them a great fit for kids with shorter attention spans and an easy early-evening outing before dinner nearby.
