HOMEPLACE: Home as a Site of Love & Resistance – Art Exhibition Opening Ceremony

Parenting for Liberation marks its 10th anniversary by opening the doors to HOMEPLACE: Home as a Site of Love & Resistance for Black Families, an art exhibition at offTOP Design in Los Angeles. The show gathers work by Black artists of all ages in many different mediums, all exploring home as a place of love, legacy and strength.

Doors open at 2:00 PM so guests can take their time walking through the gallery. The main program begins at 3:00 PM with opening remarks from founder and executive director Trina Greene, followed by live music and spoken word performances from featured HOMEPLACE artists. It is a celebratory, community-centered afternoon with plenty to see, hear and talk about.

Kids are welcome alongside their grown-ups. While there is no dedicated childcare, the organizers will set out play and coloring materials so younger guests have something to do while parents enjoy the art and performances. Ticketing follows a sliding scale with complimentary spots for families who need them, so everyone can be part of the celebration. Complimentary tickets are limited, so reserve early.
