Get ready for a fascinating journey through Long Beach's history with the Historical Society’s annual living history tour! On October 26, 2024, explore the city’s two oldest cemeteries—Long Beach Municipal Cemetery and Sunnyside Cemetery. This unique self-guided tour invites visitors of all ages to encounter the stories of both famous and everyday Long Beach residents brought to life by talented actors from the Long Beach Playhouse, dressed in period costumes. Dive into captivating narratives, including Japanese-American history, a vibrant Dia de los Muertos installation, and engaging historian talks. Performances run every 20 minutes, ensuring plenty of opportunities to learn and be entertained. It’s a remarkable blend of history and performance, offering a fun and enlightening experience like no other.
