GRIMMZ II: Once Upon a Rhyme

Jay and Will Grimmz are back with a brand-new beat. GRIMMZ II: Once Upon a Rhyme, the follow-up to the hit GRIMMZ Fairy Tales, bounces into Segerstrom Center for the Arts on May 15 and 16, 2027, turning classic storybook tales into a high-energy hip-hop musical.

Created by Children's Theatre of Charlotte and Experiential Theater Company, the show remixes familiar stories with fresh songs, dance moves, rhymes and theatrical effects. Kids will hear tracks like Hansel and Gretel Lost in the Streets, Beauty and the Beast Drop the Beat and Sleeping Beauty Wakes, along with plenty of new material and upbeat lessons about making the world a better place.

It is a fantastic pick for kids who cannot sit still when the music starts, and reviewers of the first GRIMMZ show noted young audiences singing and dancing right in their seats. Family Series performances come with about an hour of free hands-on activities in the lobby beforehand, and the Sunday 1:00 PM show is interpreted in American Sign Language.
