Frost on 5th Ice Rink

Ice skating a few blocks from the Pacific is one of those only-in-LA holiday treats, and Downtown Santa Monica's outdoor rink is back for the 2026–27 season under a new name: Frost on 5th Ice Rink (formerly Ice at Santa Monica). Families lace up on real ice at the corner of Fifth Street and Arizona Avenue, surrounded by holiday lights and ocean breezes.

It's a fun first-time skating spot for little ones and an easy holiday tradition for older kids, with the Third Street Promenade, the Santa Monica Pier and plenty of places to eat just steps away. Kick off the season at the free Grand Opening on Thursday, November 5, with free skating (first come, first served), festive bites and live entertainment.
