Free Compost Giveaway

Got a family garden project brewing? Culver City's Free Compost Giveaway hands out nutrient-rich compost at no cost, so your crew can load up for veggie beds, flower boxes or that pumpkin patch you have been dreaming about for next year.

This is a do-it-yourself pickup, which makes it a fun job for kids who love to dig. Bring a shovel plus garbage bags, yard waste bags, reusable containers, a truck bed or a trailer, and plan to scoop and bag your own compost. Distribution runs until the supply is gone, so arriving early is your best bet.

It is a hands-on way to teach little gardeners how food scraps and yard trimmings turn into rich soil that helps plants grow.
