Forneris Farms Pumpkin Patch

Forneris Farms has been growing produce in the San Fernando Valley since 1966, and every October the family-run farm in Mission Hills turns into one of the Valley's classic pumpkin-picking stops. Pumpkins are lined up in long, generous rows inside the patch, so kids can roam, compare sizes and pick out their favorites without any fuss.

The farm keeps things simple and old-fashioned, which is a big part of its charm. There is no corn maze this year, but families can still pair a pumpkin hunt with a stroll through the Farm Market, where fall décor, decorative winter squash and fresh produce are available without an entry fee. The farm is especially known for its tomatoes, so grown-ups may leave with more than just a jack-o'-lantern.

Plan ahead before heading out: Forneris Farms accepts cash only. No reservations are needed and parking is free. Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed (trained service dogs only), smoking is prohibited, and portable restrooms with hand-washing stations are on site. Visitors who are feeling sick are asked to stay home.
