Family Day: Pixel Art

Calling all mini artists (and grown-up ones too)! Family Day: Pixel Art at the Wende Museum is a vibrant afternoon of imagination, design, and a little bit of science. Inspired by the dotted pixelation of Liat Segal’s mesmerizing window installation Hyperreality, part of the Counter/Surveillance exhibit, this drop-in activity invites participants of all ages to step into the world of digital-style art.

Using colorful fuse beads, you’ll create your own pixel-inspired masterpiece—whether it’s a funky design, a favorite character, or a total freestyle moment. Once your art is complete, you’ll get to melt it into a one-of-a-kind magnet or pendant to take home as a keepsake. It’s a fun and easy way to explore creativity through a retro-tech lens.And don’t worry about running on empty—light refreshments will be provided to keep your artistic energy flowing. Whether you're crafting with the kiddos or just embracing your inner pixel geek, this is a chill and creative way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
