DrumatiX: Rhythm, Redefined!

DrumatiX takes the stage at The Ford as part of the LA Soundscapes Family Concerts series, bringing a wildly creative show where recycled and found objects turn into instruments. Buckets, cans and everyday odds and ends become a full rhythm section, and the performers layer in tap dance, body percussion, drumming and plenty of comedy.

Beyond the beats, the show carries a playful message about sustainability and creativity, showing kids that something new and exciting can come from things most people would toss away. It is an interactive performance, so young audience members get to clap, move and join in rather than just watch.

The morning starts early with hands-on art-making and interactive activities created with LA Commons, and sensory-friendly activities are part of the LA Soundscapes series. The performance follows at 11:30 a.m. The Ford is an outdoor amphitheater, so sunscreen and sun hats are a must. Families can bring a picnic, and kids 12 and under can get free tickets with a full-priced purchase.

🍔 Food

Families may bring their own food and drinks, or purchase meals from Bodega at The Ford and the Grab & Go Market.

Coolers and picnic baskets must be small enough to fit under your seat.

🚙 Parking

On-site parking at The Ford is limited and stack parked: $15 standard (two or fewer people), $10 carpool (three or more) and $10 accessible.

Off-site parking and the free shuttle are not available for daytime events.

Metro bus lines 222 and 224 serve The Ford, and ride-share drop-off is near the parking lot entrance at Cahuenga Blvd. East and Pilgrimage Bridge.
