Downtown Walking Tour

The Santa Monica Conservancy's Downtown Walking Tour turns a regular Saturday downtown into a treasure hunt for architecture. Docents lead groups on a two-hour, six-block stroll past Art Deco, Victorian and Romanesque Revival buildings, sharing the stories behind them.

School-age kids who like spotting details will enjoy hunting for the styles as you go. Tours are small, capped at 10 guests, so everyone can see and ask questions.

Check-in opens at 9:45 AM at Hostelling International, and the tour starts promptly at 10:00 AM. Wear walking shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen and water.

Open to all ages. The tour covers about six blocks over two hours.

$10 for the general public. Free for Santa Monica Conservancy members and Hostelling International guests. Reservations are preferred, and tours are limited to 10 guests.
