Disney's The Lion King at Hollywood Pantages Theatre

Disney's The Lion King roars into the Hollywood Pantages Theatre for a long winter run, giving Los Angeles families a front-row seat to one of Broadway's most beloved shows. The story follows young Simba as he grows from a playful cub into a king, set to the music kids already know and love.

The production is famous for its jaw-dropping stagecraft. Giant puppets, intricate masks and costumes, and performers moving through the aisles turn the theater into the African savanna. Children who love animals will have plenty to watch, from graceful giraffes to a swaggering Scar.

The show runs about 2 hours and 30 minutes with an intermission, and the official recommendation is ages 6 and up. Every guest needs a ticket, and children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. The production uses smoke, haze and flashing lights, so parents of sensitive little ones may want to plan ahead. Accessible seating and ASL, audio-description and captioned performances are offered on select dates.
