Disney Fan Day

The Hilbert Museum of California Art in Old Towne Orange is celebrating its 10th anniversary with its very first Disney Fan Day, presented with Mickey Visit, the popular independent Disney news and trip-planning site. The all-day celebration invites fans of every age to explore the museum's Disney treasures and join a lineup of special activities.

Throughout the day, families can wander galleries filled with original Disney and Pixar art from the Hilbert Collection, including works in the Jørgen Klubien at Disney and Pixar exhibition and newly acquired concept pieces by legendary Disney artist Mary Blair. At 2:00 PM, Mickey Visit founder and Disneyland Secrets author Gavin Doyle hosts a free meet-and-greet and Q&A packed with insider park trivia.

Kids will love the hands-on craft session from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in the museum courtyard, where they can make a Disney-inspired keepsake to take home. Seats and supplies are limited and handed out first come, first served, so arrive early. Disney-themed outfits and costumes are encouraged, which adds to the fun for your family.

After hours, a small-group VIP tour with museum founder Mark Hilbert and director Mary Platt runs from 5:00 to 5:50 PM, followed at 6:00 PM by an encore talk from Disney and Pixar animator Jørgen Klubien about his creative career. Both have limited capacity and require advance tickets. The museum is just a short drive from Anaheim, making it a fun add-on to a Disneyland trip.

Free parking is available in the Old Towne West parking structure at 130 N. Lemon St., one block east of the museum.
