Día de los Muertos at Forest Lawn–Cypress

Orange County families are invited to a free Día de los Muertos celebration at Forest Lawn–Cypress on Sunday, November 1, 2026. It's an easy, budget-friendly afternoon outing that introduces kids to a beautiful cultural tradition through music, art and play.

Folklórico dancers and mariachi musicians set the rhythm while the beloved Bob Baker Marionette Theater brings its puppets to the stage, a guaranteed hit with little ones. Wander past community ofrendas and handcrafted Catrina and alebrije art, then settle in for arts and crafts and face painting.

Parent tip: talk with your kids about ofrendas before you go and invite them to share a favorite memory of a relative or even a beloved pet. The altars become far more meaningful when children understand that each one tells a family's story.
