Día de los Muertos at Forest Lawn–Covina Hills

San Gabriel Valley families can celebrate Día de los Muertos close to home at Forest Lawn–Covina Hills on Sunday, November 1, 2026. This free afternoon festival mixes remembrance with music, art and kid-friendly activities, so it feels more like a joyful gathering than a solemn one.

Folklórico dancers and mariachi musicians set the rhythm while the beloved Bob Baker Marionette Theater brings its puppets to the stage, a guaranteed hit with little ones. Wander past community ofrendas and handcrafted Catrina and alebrije art, then settle in for arts and crafts and face painting.

Parent tip: talk with your kids about ofrendas before you go and invite them to share a favorite memory of a relative or even a beloved pet. The altars become far more meaningful when children understand that each one tells a family's story.
