Description
Dive into the rich traditions of Indonesian textile art during Create Batik-Inspired Art for Asian American Heritage Month at the Los Feliz Branch Library! This two-part workshop invites tweens and teens to learn about the cultural significance of batik—an intricate and expressive dyeing technique—and then create their own batik-style artwork. Guided by library staff and local artists, participants will explore pattern-making, color, and creativity in a fun, supportive environment. It’s a unique chance to connect with heritage, express yourself through art, and celebrate AAPI voices. Heads up: this is a two-session program, and attendance on both May 6 and May 14 is required to complete the project!
