In celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, The Getty Center presents its third annual family event, highlighting the rich Native American cultures of Southern California. This year’s theme focuses on the significance of flora, offering a range of activities that explore both traditional and contemporary Indigenous perspectives. Attendees can experience performances by the Wildhorse Native American Association, poetry readings, and garden tours led by experts. Hands-on workshops allow participants to create crafts like Tongva clapper sticks, while a tasting menu inspired by Indigenous ingredients provides a flavorful exploration of Native culinary traditions. The event also features films, live music, and community partner organizations. It is a day designed to educate and inspire, celebrating the vibrant traditions, stories, and contributions of Native cultures through engaging and immersive experiences.
