Camerata Pacifica: William Bolcom, Frédéric Chopin, and Lera Auerbach

Camerata Pacifica wraps up its 2024–25 season with an electrifying program that brings together the whimsy of William Bolcom, the romance of Frédéric Chopin, and the emotional depth of Lera Auerbach. This all-star chamber ensemble, known for shaking up classical norms, kicks off with Bolcom’s Orphée-Sérénade—a genre-bending piece that dances between lyrical and downright mischievous. The spotlight then turns to Irina Zahharenkova, Camerata’s Principal Pianist, as she dazzles with Chopin’s Andante spianato et Grande polonaise brillante, a showstopper that lives up to its name with dazzling technique and lush emotion. To close the evening—and the season—Lera Auerbach’s hauntingly beautiful Dreammusik takes the stage, written especially for Principal Cellist Ani Aznavoorian. Expect a powerhouse lineup of world-class musicians delivering an unforgettable evening of rich storytelling through music, as only Camerata Pacifica can.
