The Brand Associates 2025 Dance Series continues with an unforgettable performance by Afro-Peruvian Dance Experience Co. on May 10! Held in the unique outdoor spaces of the beautiful Brand Library & Art Center, this free event is part of a month-long celebration of movement and storytelling curated by award-winning choreographer Jamie Nichols. Known for their vibrant energy and cultural depth, Afro-Peruvian Dance Experience Co. brings the power of tradition to life through mesmerizing dance, music, theater, and poetry. Under the direction of Nadia Calmet, the group’s performance—“Echoes of Resistance”—showcases the strength and spirit of Peru’s African heritage, featuring instruments like the cajón and dances such as Panalivios, Zamacuecas, and Festejos. Bring a blanket, grab a spot early, and immerse yourself in this soulful celebration of Afro-Peruvian culture.
