Books and Cookies Story Time & Crafts

Tuesday mornings get a lot more musical at Ivy Station in Culver City, where Books and Cookies turns the outdoor lawn into a lively, free story circle for young kids. This hands-on literacy program mixes picture books with singing, dancing and plenty of wiggles, so even the most energetic toddlers stay engaged from the first page to the last.

Each session lasts about an hour. Little ones listen to diverse, imaginative stories, shake and bang along on musical instruments, and gather around for parachute play. Families who arrive a few minutes early can settle in and chase bubbles, and those who linger afterward can try a kids' craft and get to know other local parents and caregivers.

It is an easy, budget-friendly way for your family to spend a weekday morning on the Westside, and it is a great fit for parents who want to build an early love of reading. Because the program happens outdoors, bring a blanket or mat to sit on, and keep an eye on Ivy Station's and Books and Cookies' Instagram accounts if the forecast looks rainy, since sessions are canceled in wet weather.

Please note that there is no story time on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The kids' activities are reserved for children and the parents, guardians or caregivers who accompany them, and the organizers ask families to stay home if anyone is feeling sick.
