Bob Baker's Hallowe'en Spooktacular

One of Los Angeles' most beloved family traditions returns to the Bob Baker Marionette Theater in Highland Park for the 2026 Hallowe'en Spooktacular. This hour-long musical revue brings more than 100 handcrafted marionettes to life, with silly spooks and jazzy seasonal tunes that keep the mood festive rather than frightening.

The theater's cozy, up-close setting is part of the magic. Kids can sit criss-cross-applesauce on the carpet right in front of the stage, while adults choose from theater chairs or seats in the Puppet Parlor.

Costumes are strongly encouraged, and the theater hosts costume parades starting in October, giving kids a chance to show off their Halloween looks. A sensory-friendly performance on Saturday, October 10, at 10:30 am offers softer lighting and lower volume for children who benefit from a calmer setting.

Shows often sell out during the Halloween season, so families should reserve seats early.
