Angel City Christmas

The holidays are in full swing this year and it wouldn’t be December in Los Angeles without a celebration at Bel Air Church. The church, which sits atop Mulholland Drive,  overlooks the expansive San Fernando Valley, where in addition to the swarm of city lights below, the property glitters with acres of mature trees dripping with twinkle lights. A soaring Sanctuary illuminated with candles and Christmas décor sets the stage for an evening promising holiday hymns and angelic songs.

Angel City Christmas returns this year on Sunday, December 12,  as a joyful and artistic celebration of the birth of Jesus with the purpose to help address the crisis of homelessness in Los Angeles and in  Baja, Mexico. Guests can look forward to the music of a 35-piece professional orchestra, directed by Dan Korneychuk, Co-Director of Worship at the church. The seasoned leader is past president of the National Association of Church Musicians and has conducted choirs and orchestras in such venues as Walt Disney Concert Hall, Microsoft Theater, and the  Hollywood Bowl.

Additional performances by the Bel Air Chancel Choir, Worship Choir,  Kids’ Choir, and Bel Air Worship Band will round out the 90-minute musical extravaganza. Also featured will be  Jamison Puckett, Co-Director of Worship and gifted vocalist.  After the show, concertgoers will be treated to a complimentary cookie and cocoa reception underneath the stars on the church patio.  You are encouraged to dress in your holiday best!

Dates and Times

Angel City Christmas will premiere at 4:00 pm, with a second showing at 7:00 pm on Sunday, December 12, while Angel City Christmas – KIDS! will be offered from 3:30 pm-5:30 pm and 6:30 pm-8:30 pm.

Parking

Bel Air Church will offer complimentary parking for all guests attending Angel City Christmas and Angel City Christmas – KIDS!.  Self-parking will be available in several lower parking lots on either side of Mulholland Drive. Shuttle service will be available to transport guests up the hill, with stops in front of both the Sanctuary and Evans Chapel. The upper parking lots will be reserved for disabled parking and drop-offs only.

Safety Precautions: 

Masks will be required for everyone at all times, regardless of vaccination status. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you at the door. (Bandanas and gators are not considered masks.) Seating capacity will be limited inside the  Sanctuary.
