All Abilities Celebration

Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa is throwing open its outdoor plaza for the sixth annual All Abilities Celebration, a free afternoon that puts creativity, inclusion and community front and center. Artists with disabilities and local arts and disability organizations come together for three hours of performances, workshops and hands-on fun designed so every member of your family can join in.

The lineup is packed with chances to watch and then jump in. Kids and grown-ups can catch a cabaret set and dance workshop from Epic Players, bang along with the OC Jammers bucket drummers in a percussion workshop, enjoy a ukulele performance by Creative Identity, and move to the beat with Infinite Flow and Straight Up Abilities. Segerstrom's own Studio D student company also performs and leads an interactive workshop.

Between performances, families can explore a resource and activity fair to meet arts and disability organizations and try new creative activities. ASL interpretation is provided for all performances and announcements, and the event takes place outdoors on the open Julianne and George Argyros Plaza.

Admission is free with no tickets required, so your family can drop in for a favorite performance or stay for the whole afternoon. It is a welcoming, uplifting outing for kids of all abilities, their siblings and anyone who loves the arts.
