A Charlie Brown Christmas

Few holiday traditions are as beloved as Charlie Brown's quest for the perfect Christmas spirit, and this December the Phantom Projects Theatre at the historic La Habra Depot brings that story to life on stage. The live adaptation stays true to the 1965 animated special, following Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the Peanuts crew as they wrestle with holiday commercialism, a wobbly little tree and the question of what the season is really about.

At roughly 30 minutes, the show is a perfect fit for preschoolers and young kids who might squirm through a full-length production. Families can expect the familiar characters, gentle humor and heartfelt moments that grandparents, parents and kids all remember, making it an easy multigenerational outing. Performances run on Friday evenings and on weekend mornings and afternoons, so it's simple to pair the show with holiday shopping or lunch nearby.

This production is part of the theatre's Family Series, and it offers a sensory-friendly performance on Saturday, December 12 at 11 AM for children and adults who benefit from a more relaxed theatre environment. The lobby opens one hour before each show, and booster seats are available near the entrance on a first-come, first-served basis.

Parents should note that every person in the theatre needs a ticket, including babies sitting on a lap, and strollers are not allowed inside. There are no performances on Saturday, December 5, because of the City of La Habra's Tamale Festival, and tickets are non-refundable, so double-check your date and time before checking out.

Tickets for children 8 and under are $13.

Student pricing applies to kids ages 9 to 17, and discounted tickets are available for seniors 55 and older and La Habra residents.
